The next Pasco Author Lecture Series will take place on Sunday, March 3 at 2:00 pm
featuring Black Dinah Chocolatier Kate Shaffer. She will be sharing the secrets of her
success, along with the charms of living on Isle au Haut, Maine.
Since 2007, the tiny island chocolate company Black Dinah Chocolatiers has been featured in countless magazines, including Gourmet and Martha Stewart Living. Food & Wine Magazine has chosen Kate’s book Desserted: Recipes and Tales from an Island Chocolatier, for their ‘Best of the Best’ for 2011; Kate was named to Dessert Professional’s list of the top ten Chocolatiers in North America for 2011 and took a bronze in the Independent Publishers Book awards in the cookbook category. Black Dinah Chocolatiers received the Small Business Administration’s award for Home-Based Business of the Year in May 2012.
