Celebrate National Library Week – April 14-19, 2014, with the theme Lives change @ your library. First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation’s libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support. During this time, Louis T. Graves Memorial Public Library will join the American Library Association and public libraries nationwide to encourage all to visit the Library and discover the resources available. Graves Library offers computer and Apps classes, programs to help with jobs search, access to subscription databases, library-recommended websites, eBook sites, homework help and much more. If you do not have a Library Card this week is the perfect time to get one. Residents of Kennebunkport, Kennebunk, Cape Porpoise, Wells, or Arundel (including general area) are welcome to a free Library Card.
Here are a few upcoming events happening at Graves Library in celebration of National Library Week:
Raffles, games, cookies and punch will be available on Friday, April 18th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.
